Indoor vs Outdoor Party Setup: Which Is Better for Las Vegas?
One of the first decisions Las Vegas parents face when planning a kids' party is: indoor or outdoor? Both have their advantages, and the answer often depends on the time of year, your space, and your child's age.
Las Vegas Weather: The Deciding Factor
Las Vegas has a desert climate with extreme temperature swings throughout the year:
- October – April (Cool Season): Highs of 55–85°F. Perfect for outdoor parties.
- May & September: Transition months. Mornings and evenings are comfortable (70–85°F), but midday can hit 95°F+.
- June – August (Summer): Highs of 100–115°F. Outdoor parties during the day are risky for young children.
Our recommendation: If your party falls between June and September, go indoor. For October through April, outdoor is ideal.
Outdoor Party Pros & Cons
Pros
- More space — Backyards and parks give kids room to run
- Natural light — Better photos without flash
- Fresh air — Less noise bounce, more comfortable for large groups
- Park options — Vegas has great covered pavilion areas
- No mess inside — All the action stays outside
Cons
- Weather risk — Heat, wind, and rare rain can disrupt plans
- Sun exposure — Kids need sunscreen, shade, and hydration
- Electricity — Bounce houses need a power outlet within 50 feet (or a generator)
- Ground surface — Grass is ideal, but rocks and dirt may need extra foam mats
Best Outdoor Venues in Las Vegas
- Sunset Park (pavilions available for reservation)
- Craig Ranch Regional Park
- Exploration Peak Park
- Your own backyard (most popular choice!)
- HOA clubhouse patios
Indoor Party Pros & Cons
Pros
- Climate controlled — AC keeps everyone comfortable year-round
- No weather worries — Rain or shine, the party goes on
- Contained space — Easier to supervise toddlers
- Quieter — Better for babies and very young children
- Flexible timing — Morning, afternoon, or evening all work
Cons
- Space limitations — Furniture may need to be moved
- Ceiling height — Bounce houses need at least 8 feet of clearance
- Noise — Sounds bounce off walls (can be loud with excited kids)
- Flooring — Protect hardwood or tile with foam mats (included with rentals)
Best Indoor Spaces
- Living rooms and great rooms
- Garages (cleaned and cooled)
- Community centers and HOA clubhouses
- Church fellowship halls

Our Recommendation
For Las Vegas families, we suggest a simple rule:
- Cool months (Oct–Apr): Book an outdoor setup in your backyard or at a park
- Hot months (Jun–Sep): Go indoor — living room, garage, or community center
- Transition months (May, Sep): Book for morning (before 10am) or evening (after 5pm) if going outdoor
No matter which you choose, soft play setups work beautifully in both settings. We bring foam mats for any surface and can configure the layout for your specific space.
